The real fun starts tomorrow, supposedly, but there were more than several in the sky this morning. (This pic is from last year--not this morning.)

Why on Earth does DU's GD Politics look

People are arguing about what candidate would be best in the primaries for 2008!

Greetings from the Land of Enchantment!

18 September 2005 - 05:27 AM

I just moved to New Mexico from Colorado, and I can't believe how beautiful it is here. The sunsets are HUGE, the land is mostly uninhabited, and the government is hospitable and kind. There's some poverty here, no doubt, but Albuquerque, the largest city, isn't so very large--people know people.

Two roadrunners graced my yard this morning (Huck was going wild). The roadrunners had a great leaping ability and ran very fast when they left.

The moon is very bright here. I live near a major road, and the street lights PALE in comparison to the moonlight.  The stars are also very bright.

Huck hates fireworks!

18 June 2005 - 03:44 AM

This is the first summer I've gone through without Finn since 1993, and Huck is five years old now. So for the last several years, I had two dogs ploughing into the bed or trying to hide under my desk when the fireworks started. Now it's just Huck. He just witnessed--and heard, with his killer ears--some real beauties from the home office window. He's under the desk now with his head firmly planted on my right foot.

Howard Dean to travel the world for Democrats

18 June 2005 - 12:13 AM

HOUSTON — Democratic Party Chairman Howard Dean said Friday he would travel next year to India, Israel and elsewhere around the globe to show American ethnic communities that he cares more about them than their money.

"We don't want them to just be donors," Dean said after addressing a gathering of Indian-American doctors while on a fund-raising swing through Texas.

"We have very strong support from the Indian community," he said. "I want to show the willingness of the Democratic Party to reach out and respect their traditions."

Dean said he would probably go to India next winter and planned a trip to Israel and other spots around the world.
